In order to open the dialogue for creating or editing a variable, click on Btn_DialogÖffnen2 .

 

Click on Btn_AdvancedOpen to show more user management variables. Click on Btn_AdvancedClose to return to the basic parameters.

Dlg_UsrManagement_Base1

The following variables: "Logout", "Repetition", "Available characters", "Password expiry" and "Min. password length" are functionally related to the following parameters:

 

Logout

Automatic log-out in minutes

Repetition

Number of log-in attempts

Availabl characters

Password only consists of

Password expiry

Password expiry in days

Min. password length

Minimum length of password

 

Hinweis

Which settings are used for log-out time, repetitions, available characters, password expiry and minimum password length depends on which modus (normal or variables) is active when you click on "Apply" or "OK" for the last time.

 

 

A brief explanation of the individual parameters and variables:

Variable allocation


Type

User name:

Variable for user name input or checking user

String

Password:

Variable for password input or checking password.

 

Hinweis

Passwords may consist of a maximum of 10 characters.

Only standard characters may be used; umlauts or other special characters are not permitted.

Passwords that are longer than 10 characters are deemed invalid by the operator interface.

cicon2 Initialising user management.

String

Current user:

Variable for the currently logged-in user.

Hinweis

User names may consist of a maximum of 10 characters.

Only standard characters may be used; umlauts or other special characters are not permitted.

User names that are longer than 10 characters or contain invalid characters are deemed invalid by the operator interface and will be deleted.

 

Hinweis

You may enter user names in lower case or upper case letters. These are converted to upper case letters in the operator interface.

String

Password level:

Variable for the access authority level of the logged-in user.

Analogue (Integer)

Password confirm:

Variable for password verification. (repeat password entry).

Current level:

Variable reflecting the status of the access authority of the currently logged-in user.

Fixed values

Automatic log-out in minutes:

Constant value specifying the time that needs to pass without any input until a logged-in user is automatically logged-out by the system. A value of 0 means this function is switched off.

 

Warnhinweis

If there are Image objects (operating elements)  on the current page which were allocated a level greater than 0, accessing these after an automatic log-out requires another log-in.

 

In this case, you should ensure fast access to the log-in page.

 

Number of log-in attempts:

Specifies the number of unsuccessful log-in attempts before a user is barred completely. If this is set to 0, the permitted number of incorrect log-in attempts is infinite.

 

Password expiry in days:

Specifies an interval in days after which the password must be changed.

A value of 0 means that the password will remain valid indefinitely.

 

Hinweis

If a password has expired, a user may still log on according to "Number of log-in attempts" in order to be able to change the password.

 

If the password is not changed during these log-ins, the user account is barred and can only be reactivated via the user management of User management at the PC.

 

Minimum length of password:

Specifies the minimum number of characters for the password.

 

Password only consists of

The password may consist of alphanumerical characters. *1).

Logout:

The value of the variable specifies the time that needs to pass without any input until a logged-in user is automatically logged out by the system.

If passwords are created in User management the existing password format will not be checked.

The passwords are checked for proper format via the log-in function. Those that do not have the specified format are recognised as invalid and the log-in will not be confirmed.

If you intend to use the extended variables, you have to define all of them.

You cannot use a mixture of fixed values and variables.

The conditions set in the variables are not checked when a user is created in the user management on the PC.

 

However, the current value of the variable is used for checking at the operator interface when functions of the user management are called up.
