RemoteHMI-MenuConnection details

This chapter contains key information on Connections and options.

Btn_Top10x10 Topics:

5.4.1 Primary connection:

A main connection (primary connection) is the one that the Thin Clientwill establish first after starting up.

If this connection cannot be established within a certain time the connection next in the list will be established.

Currently, only one connection can be specified as primary connection in a Thin Client.

5.4.2 Fallback connection:

A fallback connection is a connection that is automatically established by the Thin Client once the existing main or fallback connection is unavailable for a predefined period of time.

If a connection (main or fallback) fails for a longer time than that specified, the next connection on the list will be activated (established).

A fallback connection does not necessarily have to have the same remote server on a host PC as its target.

The connection can also be established via a different host PC and a different remote server protocol (VNC / RDP).

5.4.3 Normal connection:

A connection specified as "normal" is one that can only be established by clicking on the button for this connection.

If the option "Allow Multiple Connections" has been activated, a normal connection can be established in addition to other connections.

In this case, such a connection when activated is shown on the Thin Client whilst a connection that has been established before continues to be held.

A set up connection can have 4 different connection statuses.

Fgr_ConnectionStates
