When creating a new project, the Wizard will guide you through the "Port and driver" dialogue.

If it becomes necessary to modify the interface or the protocol type at a later date, this can by done at any time using the object type Port in the Object Explorer.

Assign a protocol to an interface

There are two ways to assign a protocol driver to an interface.

 

a) In the Object Explorer, mark the "Port" object type and create a new object.

This is done using

1.menu item "Edit > New"
2.the shortcut "Ctrl+I" on the keyboard,
3.the menu item "New" of the context menu.

 

Afterwards the dialogue for selecting the interface is displayed. Select the interface you need and confirm by clicking on "OK".

Only those interfaces are displayed that can be used for the selected device.

Once you have selected the interface, you can select the desired settings in the Port parameter dialogue window.

b) In the Object Explorer, go to the "Interface" sub-directory, mark the desired interface and create a new object.

This is done using:

1.menu item "Edit > New"
2.the shortcut "Ctrl+I" on the keyboard,
3.the menu item "New" of the context menu.
