Easy Profibus ► EPB Functional Description ► Process data area ► Peripheral output variables
Actual variable values can be stored in the peripheral output variables and thus be displayed at the operator interface.
The maximum number of variables partly depends on the length of word addresses as defined in the DP slave and partly on the length (and therefore number) of fault messages in the peripheral output fault messages. Since the variable area is located downstream of the fault message area, the latter defines the number of possible variables (in addition to the defined word length in the DP slave participant). The more fault messages have been defined, the fewer variables can be used. The maximum total number of variables is 55. Conditions: - DP-slave has been defined with 58 words - no fault messages have been programmed
Addressing of variables: All variables are addressed absolutely. Addressing begins at 0 and ends at a maximum of 54.
