For indicating the condition of a process parameter, a symbolic output as graphic can also be used instead of the numeric indication of the variable value. When using the symbol output, the value and/or value area is also presented as graphic. Using a graphic, you can visualize, for instance, conditions of machine system elements. The variable values are assigned to symbolic graphics by means of graphic lists. Graphic lists are always to be used for indicating the actual value.



There are two ways available to create image objects.


Tools toolbar:




Click the symbol for a graphic list in the cicon2 Tools toolbar.


The mouse pointer changes to the selected symbol. cursor_grafikliste_object_d


Position the object on the image.
Press and hold down the left mouse button and drag a field having the requested object size.
In the image, the field is marked with a frame and editing handles for modifying its size.





modifies the width of the selected object


modifies the height of the selected object


modifies the height and width of the selected object


Release the left mouse button again.
The dialogue including the field properties for the graphic list is displayed.




Description of properties:




Actual value

A graphic list can only be used as actual value.


Name which can be selected freely for the graphic list

A graphic list can be used several times with the same properties, since the different displayed values are determined via the analog / digital variable.


Graphic list properties

Definition of graphics and the assigned values or value areas.


Arbitrary comment for information purposes.

Information regarding the field can be entered in the comment field. Comments are used for explanation purposes in SPSPlusWIN.




The value predefined for a Graphic list may only be a value of the analog variable type.


Use this field to select or create the variable specifying the value for the graphic list.

The value of this variable is used for a graphic in the graphic list. When using the multiplexing function, the variable and the graphic list do not influence each other.

Process connection

Information on the programmed process connection

The displayed process connection provides information on the address used by the variable.
