Connection selection

button you can select the connection of the Thin Client to the host if you have not defined an address book entry as (Fallback ⇩).

Possible connection types are via the KVM box and direct connections via VNC, NetC@p or RDP to the Host PC.

The factory state of the Thin Client devices provides only one address book entry and a connection to a KVM box.

The advantages and disadvantages of each connection type compared to the others are listed in section (Comparison of connection types ⇩).

Depending on the actual status of the connection you can either establish (CONNECT), disconnect (DISCONNECT) or pause (PAUSE) this connection for the active (highlighted in grey) address book entry. The touch button information also changes according to the actual status..

If you want to select another address book entry for the connection that is currently not active, you first have to disconnect the current connection status and the associated function key then shows CONNECT. You can then choose another address book entry.

The selected address book entry is again highlighted in grey (entry 1 in our example), but the QUICK CONNECT menu is not closed.

You can also make a selection via the associated function key of the Thin Client or the touch area of the function key button. By pressing the button or tapping on the touch area the connection is dialled up directly, an attempt is made to establish the connection and the QUICK CONNECT menu is closed.

Specify start connection

If you wish to use an existing address book entry directly after the Thin Client has been started, you can define this entry as the start connection. At the next start, this connection is used and the Thin Client starts to establish a connection to the defined station. The Thin Client will try to reach this address and automatically establish a connection when starting up. If no start connection has been specified, the connection needs to be established manually.

If a question mark appears below the DEVICE STARTUP checkbox, no password has been defined for this connection in the address book entry. This only applies to VNC or RDP connections. The log-on to the server is then carried out according to the settings defined for the VNC or RDP connections.

Quick Connect Menu buttons

The following buttons are available in the Quick Connect menu:

	Touch button for establishing a connection (CONNECT)	Use this touch button to establish a connection to the specified address book entry.
	Touch button for disconnection (DISCONNECT)	Use this touch button to cancel a connection to the active address book entry.
	Touch button for pausing the connection (PAUSE)	Use this touch button to pause the connection to the active address book entry.
*1	Touch button for selecting the next address book page.	Changes to the next address book page. If the current address book page is the last one, the first one will be opened.
1*	Touch button for selecting the previous address book page.	Changes to the previous address book page. If the current address book page is the first one, the last one will be opened.
	Touch button for selecting the next address book page.	Changes to the next address book page. If the current address book page is the last one, the first one will be opened.
	Touch button for selecting the next address book page.	Use this touch button to stop the connection selection and close the configuration menu.
	Touch button for returning (RETURN TO QUICK ACCESS) to the QUICK ACCESS menu.	Use this touch button to return to the (QUICK ACCESS ⇩)menu.
