If not already shown, open the "Address Book".

 

Press "F8" and select the "Address Book" tab to get to the configuration menu.

 

Click on

to set up a new connection.

Establishing a connection:

 

To set parameters for the new connection, click on

The editing dialogue of the connection will pop up.

Parameterisation buttons:

Fgr_MnuBtn_Primary

Allocates the (Main connection ) status to a connection.

Each device can only have one main connection.

Fgr_MnuBtn_Normal

Identifies a connection as a (Normal connection ).

Each device can have several normal connections, but these are not automatically established.

Editing buttons:

Fgr_MnuBtnDelete

Deletes the current connection from the address book.

The connection will be deleted without further questions.

Fgr_MnuBtn_Copy

Copies the current connection with its parameters.

This is useful for providing another connection with individual changes to the parameters.

Fgr_MnuBtn_Edit

Opens the connection parameter screen.

Fgr_MnuBtnAdvanced

Opens a dialogue for further settings (expert modus).

Parameterization:

Use the parameterisation screen to set the connection parameters.

Click on the down arrow Fgr_BtnOpnDetails on the right hand side of the "Type"selection field.

Select "VNC" as connection type by clicking on it.

Allocate a descriptive name to the connection in the "Name" field.

If access to the connection requires authentication at the VNC server of the remote computer (login, password), enter these in the "Login User Name" and "Login Password" fields.

The VNC server *1 is addressed in the "Server Address" field. Enter the name of the server or its IP address here.

It is possible to add the associated port number to the server IP address.

 

Example:

192.168.1.23:5900

The port specified here must be the same as that specified in the server configuration.

The target address of the Host PC must be located

in the same network as that of the Thin Client or must be contactable from there.

 

You may need to allocate a user level to the connection.

The default value is "Operator".
