Switching off / closing down

HMIs, human machine interfaces ► Panel PC ET/MT-4x6... ► Operation ► Switching off / closing down

 

As is the routine with a PC, you shut down the device by clicking on "Start" and "Shut down". The familiar "shut down Windows" dialogue will open..

 

Warnhinweis

It is therefore important for the safe and correct operation that the HMI is properly closed down (see illustration below) and NOT simply switched off!

 

Otherwise the existing image of the device may be damaged, rendering the HMI non-functioning.

After the data has been stored, Windows informs the user that the device can now be switched off.

 

Warnhinweis

Only switch off the device once you have received this message.

 

The Microsoft Windows operating system stores key data in the main memory, regardless of the application, and has to store this data on the hard disk before the PC / HMI is switched off.
