Accessories ► KVM-DVI3-Units-... ► General Information
All transmission units are used for classic point-to-point data connection from a PC outside of the production area to an on-site HMI. The data transmission to the PC is via VGA/DVI or USB/PS2 and a copper or optical fibre connection to the on-site HMI, realised as digital data transfer. Depending on cable connection and transmission technology the distance between the transmission unit and the Remote HMI ranges from 140m (copper cable) to 10,000m (optical fibre). The transmission technologies available are the KVM Classic version DVI3, for which the appropriate transmission units exists (see type code).
Communication takes place by The DVI and sound signals being received by the local PC, and the keyboard and mouse signals being received at the Remote HMI (display). They are transmitted via Ethernet copper cable (twisted pair, up to 150 / 500 m) or fibre optic (FO, up to 10 km) via a direct connection.
