The optional X5 interface provides two serial CAN buses.

The CAN bus (Controller Area Network) is intended for the connection to a Fieldbus system.

The CAN bus must be terminated with 120 Ohm.

It requires the installation of a driver.

The physical interface meets the requirements of ISO 11898-2 (50 kbit/s to 1 Mbit/s).

 

Level 2 protocol (security / data link):

a.CAN 2.0A (11 bit identifier) base frame format

b.CAN 2.0B (29 bit identifier) extended frame format

 

The following communication protocols are supported:

a.CANopen

b.NMEA 2000®

c.DeviceNet
