From Hardware Revision 3.0 onwards:
The status of the respective LEDs at the operator interfaces indicates the activity of the corresponding data lines.
These LEDs are located underneath the additional back lid that covers the interface circuit board. This additional back lid needs to be removed in order to see these LEDs.

In hazardous areas the device must not be operated
without its enclosure lid and back lid.
This means that the status LEDs can only be viewed during commissioning (without explosion hazard)
or in a safe area.
