The Eagle series devices (ET/MT-3x6...) has been designed to visualise operating processes and to display or input control values. It is possible to provide process control based on several pages by means of input and output objects. These can control slides or engines, for example, and display measured values as text or visually. Use the SPSPlusWin software, included in the delivery, to provide image objects and their parameterization. Below follows a description of how to connect the engineering PC with the Eagle operator interface.



When programming devices type ET / MT-3x6 placed not in the none Ex area please refer to the connection versions in the chapter entitled cicon2 via Ethernet IP !


Ethernet optical fibre connection:

The optical fibre cable must be connected to the Eagle operator interface by means of a type SC duplex connector with duplex clip and to the media converter by means of a type MT-RJ duplex connector.

Direct connection


The Ethernet connection can be at any port of the network.


If the Eagle operator interface has a copper Ethernet interface you can connect it directly with a free Ethernet port of the PC. Please ensure the correct assignment of the terminals.

COM 1, RS-232 connection:


This is a less commonly used connection type, as it is very slow.

For this type of connection, use the COM1 port terminals and a VB 99 cable.
