HMIs, human machine interfacesEagle ET/MT-3x6...Connection ofControl systems / Servervia RS-232 an MPI-Bus

With an operator terminal with RS 232 interface, a connection to an MPI bus is established via the HMI-RS232 MPI box. Its main purpose is to adapt the RS 232 interface to the RS 485 bus system of the MPI interface. In the transport layer (layer 4), the MPI box uses the RK512 protocol. For further information, for example on the parameterisation of the MPI box, please refer to the MPI box manual.

Hinweis

The RS-232 standard allows for a maximum cable capacity of 2500 pf.

The resulting maximum length of a standard cable is 15m.

Depending on transfer type and ambient conditions, this may be less.
